USCIS's Fee Increase is on hold for now
On September 29, 2020, just 3 days before USCIS's planned fee increase would have taken effect, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in Immigration Legal Resource Center et al., v. Wolf, et al., 20-cv-05883-JWS, temporarily enjoined USCIS from increasing its fees. It is uncertain when USCIS will be allowed to change its fees and by how much.
This means that there is a brief window of time for people to file the N-400 application for naturalization before the filing fees increase, potentially by as much as $475.
