Bipartisan Proposal in Senate to offer permanent residence to Physicians and Nurses
A bipartisan group of senators has sponsored a new bill to allocate 40,000 green cards for the immigration of physicians and nurses who can assist in treating patients with COVID-19. This program would reclaim unused green cards from previous years' quotas to enable physicians, nurses, and their immediate family members to immigrate permanently to the U.S. Physicians, nurses, and other healthcare workers are exempted from President Trump's latest executive order, and so it does not stand in the way of their immigration.
