USCIS will raise the filing fee for the I-526 petition

Yesterday, USCIS promulgated its final rule on its proposed fee increases. As it originally proposed, USCIS will increase the filing fee for the I-526 petition from $1,500 to $3,675, The fee increase will take effect on December 23, 2016. Click here to view the final rule in the Federal Register. Therefore, any I-526 petition filed on or after that date will be subject to the new fee amount. If you are interested to immigrate under the EB-5 program, it would be advisable to start your case as soon as possible in order to allow enough time to prepare and file the I-526 petition before the fee amount rises.
